4 (More) Ideas for An Anti-Social Day in LA: Summer Edition
Summer is in full force and social calendars are packed. Treat yourself to an anti-social solo day and try one of these itineraries on for size
Hey there! Welcome back to another installation of anti-social activities in LA. In case you’re new here, I shared V1 in April of this year (here). This is one of my most successful articles to date - so I figured I’d launch another installment with a summer spin! Summer is such a busy time, with the sun’s rays fueling us to be out and about 24/7. I encourage you to take a solo recharge day and use this list as activity inspiration! See 4 (more) ideas for an anti-social day in the city below—

Grab brunch and tour a Beverly Hills mansion - Start your day at either Butcher’s Daughter or Great White on Melrose. If you can swing it, Butcher’s Daughter has an incredible “Breakfast Club” Mon-Fri 9 AM-12 PM, which consists of a chic brunch bar + coffee + juices all for $25. Then, head up the hill to Greystone Mansion, a sprawling 18.3 acre site complete with stunning architecture and gardens. It’s so easy to get lost here and disassociate, I LOVE it!
Day trip up the PCH to Malibu - First and foremost, you’re gonna need a good playlist for your main character drive up the Pacific Coast Highway. Stop at the Malibu Country Mart and pick up a sandwich at John’s Garden - the most perfect sandwich and salad shack with a stunning chip and drink variety to boot. Continue up the coast and land at El Matador State Beach - my favorite Malibu spot, complete with cool caves and rock formations to explore.
Take a hike + grab lunch or a sweet treat after at the most chic shopping center in LA - A hike in Temescal Canyon or through Will Rogers State Park to Inspiration Point is a great way to spend the day. After, head to the Brentwood Country Mart to grab ice cream at Sweet Rose Creamery (my favorite mint chip EVER) or grab lunch at Farmshop. This farmhouse-style shopping center is ultra luxe and tbh, very expensive for the most part - but I love browsing the shops and dreaming of the day I can actually afford a $400 Doen dress.
Enjoy a day at the museum followed by a delicious meal at a secret restaurant inside the Petersen - I could easily lead you to LACMA, but have you visited the Academy Museum yet? Effortlessly kill a few hours exploring 4+ floors filled with movie and television memorabilia, then head across the street for brunch inside the Petersen Auto Museum at Meyers Manx Cafe - their breakfast burrito is to die for and I love the retro aesthetics inside the restaurant. There’s a piece of art on the wall that just says “TURBO TEARS” and I want it so badly… fun fact it’s $15,000. NVM!
