Hey!!
With MDW quickly approaching and whispers of PCH opening back up… we’ve all got summer on the brain!
I’ve been wrestling with a weird anxiety about summer - almost dreading it in a way, fearing a rinse and repeat of all the same activities over and over. LA has been feeling a little boring lately, but I’m dead set on changing that! Enter… the summer remix!
Below, you’ll find a bunch of ideas for how to spend your summer free time - none of which center around alcohol + standing around at a bar talking to the friends you came with. All g if that’s your thing, but when you live in a city like Los Angeles - there is sooo much more out there!

Summer concerts & nights at the museum - truly my favorite part of summer in LA so of course, I have to pop this to the top of the list! There is something so sexy and fun about groovin’ at a museum or a park in the eve! A few event calendars to keep tabs on: KCRW Summer Nights, Hammer Museum, The Broad, LACMA Jazz Nights, Americana in the Park, Silverlake Wine x Barnsdall Art Park
Dinner parties & pop ups! Obsessed with this Usal Project BBQ party. Chloe of Chloe Cooks is always hosting the most chic dinners, to the point where brands are taking notice - she just hosted the cutest event with Lisa Says Gah! over the weekend. My gal Andrea of Mas Vino Please is teasing a very mas vino summer *eyes emoji* - I already know she is going to serve up some amazing events for us in the coming months!! And as always, I highly recommend following your favorite restaurants so you know about allll of the pop ups - i.e. this Majordomo x Found Oyster Summer Feast on 6/7!
Living like it’s 2015 in LA, inspired by Ethan - No you don’t understand… as someone who is constantly living in a state of nostalgia, I LOVE this concept. I shopped Abbot Kinney and roamed Artists & Fleas this past weekend just to feel something, it was kind of sublime… Other ideas I’m throwing around - an overdue revisit to Cinespia, maybe a silly rooftop moment at EP & LP and/or Melrose Umbrella Co and/or Bar Lubitsch??
Wellness & NA activities - We are experiencing a surge of NA & wellness-focused activities in LA and it is a beautiful thing! There are tons and I will think of more as soon as I ship this - but off the top of my head:
Backhouse - shoutout to Steve!! He just opened the studio and is hosting a ton of events, check him out and get a lil’ artsy!
Ola Beach Tennis - hearing great things and need to go ASAP!
Coffee & Chill - morning cold plunge, anyone?
AM Radio - nothing like a DJ set to wake you up & kick off your weekend!!
Bread & Butter Latte Throwdown - I am seeing an influx of coffee & matcha classes + competitions across the city. Will keep sharing more as I find ‘em!
Go to the beach! Okay not a revolutionary idea, but what if you went to a beach you’ve never visited before?? The coast is covered with beautiful beaches and there is no need to limit yourself to only Santa Monica or Venice. A few favorites: El Matador Beach - Malibu, Broad Beach - Malibu, Lifeguard Tower 14 - Manhattan Beach, Lifeguard Tower 28 - Newport Beach … and a few others I am gatekeeping srrrry but you get the idea!
Day trips & weekend getaways - Every so often things will escalate and I will see too many trucker hat-clad Venice bros & basic b’s in copy paste neutral clothing and I will want to crawl out of my skin. This is a key indicator it’s time to leave the city and get some fresh air. I’m a broken record but there are so many wonderful places to visit within 2-3 hours driving distance from LA! A few itineraries below to guide you:
Okay the juices are flowin’ and I’m getting a *little* more excited for summer. I hope this gave you an idea or two! Reply directly to this email or drop a comment on Substack to share your favorite summer activities and maybe, just maybe I’ll add them to this list or a future TTS! See you soooon!
Excellent list!!
