My Los Angeles: Más Vino Please's Top 5
On today's special edition of TTS, natural wine hot girl and LA native Andrea Jaramillo (@MasVinoPlease) shares her Top 5 spots in the city
Hi friends! I am so excited to kick off a new Ticket to Sarahdise series this week - “My Los Angeles”! In this series, I’ll be interviewing friends living in Los Angeles and asking them to share their top 5 favorite spots in the city. Our inaugural interview is none other than Andrea Jaramillo, also known as Más Vino Please!
Andrea was my first *internet friend*, so it feels only fitting to have her help me kick off this series :) We met through TikTok in 2020 - a very different time, and we’ve both come so far since then! After messaging back and forth and following each other’s content journeys online, we met IRL for coffee in February 2021 - her boyfriend escorted her to the cafe to make sure I wasn’t catfishing her, GREEN FLAG hi Matt :) We bonded over the stupid ever-changing algorithm and our Aries tendencies - and it’s been real life friendship ever since! It’s been so fun watching Andrea grow her business and spread the natural wine gospel ;) she’s definitely taught me a thing or two! Read on to learn more about Andrea and uncover her top 5 places in LA.

NAME: Andrea Jaramillo
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF YOURSELF: I’m a natural wine non-somm who loves sharing wine knowledge with my community. Más Vino Please started on TikTok and has grown into a community of wine lovers that extends around the world. I love connecting with people in real life at the wine events and pop ups I host, as well as through my videos and wine podcasts.
I’m excited to share the world of wine with others and I love sharing the stories of the incredible wine makers and wines I learn about along the way. Hopefully, you’re also inspired on your own wine journey and it leads you to some tasty juice along the way.
You can stay up to date with wine recs and event dates on instagram, tik tok, my newsletter andddd my podcast.
AREA OF THE CITY YOU LIVE IN: I live downtown, but I’m from Pasadena/SGV <3
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN LA? I was born in LA! When I was 18 I moved away for 10 years, but came back in 2018 after many years abroad. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be :) Fun fact: my mom’s side of the family is LA through and through! They’ve lived here for over 100 years, which is pretty cool (and rare!).
LA SPOT #1: South Pasadena Farmer’s Market
Spending a Thursday at the South Pas Farmers Market is one of my favorite things ever. It brings me a lot of joy and nostalgia. I grew up in South Pas and the plan every Thursday was to go to the market after school and get pupusas and lemonade. The market has definitely grown in popularity since then and it’s cute to see all the families and foodies picking up their weekly market haul. It’s smaller than other markets in the city but the selection is wonderful and it still has this small town/European charm to it.
(If we can’t make it to South Pas, we go to the Hollywood Market on Sunday.)
LA SPOT #2: Zankou Chicken
Zankou Chicken!! If you know, you know! Rotisserie chicken, hummus, tabbouleh, fattoush, pita… THE INFAMOUS GARLIC SAUCE—all my favorite foods!! It’s consistently delicious, fast and affordable! I thought everyone grew up with a Zankou in their neighborhood, but I recently found out there are only a few scattered around the city! They finally opened one downtown and it’s my go-to weeknight dinner when we don’t want to cook.
LA SPOT #3: Clark Street Diner
A good local diner is always important to have! Mine isn’t super local, but I love it enough to drive there: Clark Street Diner in Hollywood. They do classic American diner food REALLY well, using organic ingredients, and of course, Clark Street bread.
They took over the old 101 Coffee Shop location (which closed during COVID) and I really appreciate that they rehired the original diner staff and kept the interior the same.
LA SPOT #4: Braindead Studios
Braindead Studios movie theater on Fairfax is one of the coolest spots in town! They show eclectic films from cult classics to silent films to the latest Wes Anderson in the single theater (there’s a different movie every night!) and their cafe in the back serves great food and coffee drinks. It’s a perfect date night spot or even a solo date to the movies. Keep an eye on their monthly calendar for movie showings and chef pop-ups.
Another fun fact: it used to be an old Charlie Chaplin silent movie theater!
LA SPOT #5: Cafe Triste
Cafe Triste is my current favorite wine bar—It’s intimate and cozy, but the music is always upbeat and the vibes are buzzin. It feels like a sexy french wine bar meets cool modern art gallery. Triste has one of the best wine lists on this side of town, in my opinion— there are so many bottles to explore with lots of cult favorites and a focus on French and Italian wines. The food menu is always changing and I love seeing what’s new. **Their cheese selection is also top tier!**
