Behold: it’s the last TTS of 2024! I’ll get right to it because Gramma is prepping Christmas dinner and I gotta go help! Here are my highlights from this year!
My Top 5 (New to Me) Dining Experiences
Barra Santos - I ate this meal in January and can still remember the taste of the tuna crudo. So so thrilled this one lives up to the hype and need to get back there soon!
Uchi - I dined at Uchi twice this year and loved it equally both times! It’s pricey, but the quality of food matches the cost. There are so many fun dishes to try here, but I think the hot rock wagyu takes the cake for me. Pssssst
Holbox - Also dined here twice in ‘24! Excellent, top tier Mexican seafood. It cannot be beat. Recommend the uni tostada and grilled octopus
Si! Mon - Westside new restaurants can be seriously hit or miss, and I’m happy to share Si! Mon is worth the visit. Alsooo dined here twice this year and enjoyed everything I tried - but I think their tuna carpaccio yuca tostada and Afro-Caribbean shrimp dumplings take the cake for me. This is turning into a very seafood-skewing round up…
Borekas - Not seafood phew! I’ve been trying to get to Borekas since it opened in late ‘22, as 1) I’m constantly seeking out new and different foods in a place where we get a lot of same same and 2) Because I just KNEW it would be incredible! The signature Israeli flaky pastry comes with a number of filling options - I personally tried the spinach and cheese bourekas and loved it. The little to go box with all of the fixings is so fun, a truly wonderful dining experience front to back!

Maru Espresso Bar - Beverly Hills *this is a little bit of a cheat because I’ve had Maru no less than 1000x, but the espresso bar in BH hits different!!
