3 Essential Food Stops on Your Way Up the Coast
A road trip always includes a stop or two along the way... might as well make it a delicious meal!
After road-tripping up to Paso Robles this weekend for my best friend’s wedding, I’m feeling some extra love for California and our beautiful coast! One of my favorite parts of living in LA is the access to the coastal drives. Whether you have a day, a week, or a month, there’s 1000 different ways to experience the California coastline and all it has to offer. Today, I’m spotlighting a few of my favorite food stops on your route - this is just a taste… more CA coast itinerary content coming very soon!

Reel Inn, Malibu - 18661 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265
Why It’s Great: Reel Inn is a no-frills beach shack sitting directly on the PCH. They have tons of amazing seafood options, and you can order any of them grilled, sautéed, or blackened. After your meal, take the secret bridge underneath the PCH (rough location here) and stretch your legs at Topanga Beach.
What to Order: I keep it simple and order a plate - it includes your fish of choice and 2 sides. I love a grilled Mahi Mahi, mashed potatoes and coleslaw.
Brophy Bros, Santa Barbara - 119 Harbor Way, Santa Barbara, CA 93109
Why It’s Great: Brophy Bros is a CLASSIC! Picture your perfect boardwalk seafood joint overlooking the marina - this is Brophy Bros. #GreatForParents too. Make sure you wait for a seat outside so you can enjoy the view!
What to Order: Clam chowder!! It’s worth the stomach ache, I promise ;) I also loved the ahi tuna salad and the mussels in broth.
Industrial Eats, Buellton - 181 Industrial Way, Buellton, CA 93427
Why It’s Great: Industrial Eats in a newer find for me in recent years, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite places. Options range from wood-fired pizzas to sandwiches the size of your face - and you truly can’t go wrong. I sent several wedding guests here for the drive home, and I received nothing but rave reviews. One couple even picked up pizzas to take home for dinner after their meal!
What to Order: As stated above, you really can’t go wrong here. Of the times I’ve been here, my favorites have been the brisket sandwich, the banh mi and the mussels! I am slowly making my way through the whole menu and can’t wait to try more dishes on my next trip.
