3 (Actually Fun) Weeknight Activities in Los Angeles
For when you're feeling a little ~crazy~ and want to venture out on a school night
When you live in a city like Los Angeles, there’s not just “something” going on every night… there’s hundreds of things. Today, I’m skipping past all the cheesy tourist activities, bad comedy shows, and expensive dinners to share 3 *actually* fun weeknight activities in LA.

Discover new music at It’s A School Night (Mondays) - Since it’s inception in 2010, It’s A School Night has consistently curated a killer lineup of new artists for you to discover. Even Billie Eilish and Lizzo graced this stage before they blew up. I’ve personally seen LEON and KT Tunstall here (who remembers??) Tickets are $10 and the vibes are very laid back. You can find the latest lineups + link for tickets on their IG here. Highly recommend!
Line Dancing at Desert 5 Spot (Wednesdays) - Not only is Desert 5 Spot one of the best new bars in LA, it’s also a venue for line dancing every Wednesday! This Western-themed rooftop serves up great cocktails, and coming on a Wednesday guarantees entry (versus potentially getting turned away on the weekend, as it gets PACKED). Link for RSVP here - it’s free :)
Catch a comedy show at Largo (Various) - As I briefly hinted above, there are a lot of very mediocre / bad comedy shows in LA :) SORRY! Largo curates the best of the best, and you’re almost always treated to a special guest to boot. I’ve seen so many great shows here - my favorites being The Ron Burgundy Podcast (yes, Will Ferrell in character as Ron Burgundy), Middleditch & Schwartz and The Improvised Shakespeare Company. Check their lineup here and keep tabs on their IG for new show announcements - tickets go quick!
That’s all for today, folks! This is your sign to get up off the couch and enjoy all that your city has to offer! More to come next week. Be sure to subscribe and don’t forget - I’m curating even more LA recommendations on TikTok!
